Technyl ONE: The unparalleled solution for advanced electrical protection

Electrical equipment and consumer electronics manufacturers are increasingly looking to high-performance polyamides for device miniaturization while seeking solutions that meet ever-more stringent industry regulations, including for fire and safety hazards. With its Technyl® line, DOMO Engineering Materials offers a complete range of non-halogenated flame-retardant polymer solutions for applications ranging from power management and renewable energy systems, to consumer electronics, household appliances and more.

Specifically formulated to increase fire and electrical protection for power management equipment, Technyl® ONE gives manufacturers an edge when it comes to miniaturization. Indeed, this is particularly challenging, as miniaturization means smaller parts and closely packed components, leading to higher temperatures and increased  potential of electric arcs and short-circuits. Technyl® ONE enables manufacturers to produce miniaturized components of the highest quality while meeting the strictest safety standards.

With excellent electrical performance, easy-processing ability, and mechanical strength, Technyl® ONE has demonstrated its value in numerous product designs, including for mini, molded and smart circuit breakers and contactors. Offering a superior solution over standard PA66, Technyl® ONE features a patented polymer technology and a range of UL-certified compounds. Combining functional efficiency with aesthetic qualities, Technyl® ONE integrates DOMO’s technical expertise with an innovative approach to development, performance validation and production.

Go with the flow

What makes Technyl® ONE so unique? Its proven polyamide formulation features a high melt temperature of 285°C and a high crystallization temperature of 250°C, which sets it apart from standard PA 66, not to mention PPA. Technyl® ONE combines peak mechanical and electrical performance properties with superior flowability so manufacturers can create smaller and more complex parts to optimize design without compromising safety.

With its wide processing window, accurate filling, and good surface aspect, Technyl® ONE delivers robust results through high-flowability to reduce product wall thickness. Contrary to traditional halogen-free flame-retardant (HFFR) high performance polymers, Technyl® ONE behaves like a PA66 during processing phase, meeting production challenges by reducing corrosion and scrap. In addition, this leads to lower energy consumption and shortened cycle times.

With industry-leading certifications, Technyl® ONE meets the strictest regulations facing the electrical equipment market, notably UL and IEC certification, Fire and Fume certification. This includes UL94 V0 rating at a wall thickness of only 0.4 mm; Railway standard EN 45545-2: HL3 under R22 & R23; and Full Yellow Card, including RTI and rating @0.4mm.

Peak performance

Technyl® ONE is a high-performance polymer optimized for consumer electronics, electrical protection devices and power management equipment. Available in a full range of grades to meet demanding customer requirements, the halogen-free flame-retardant solution demonstrates best-in-class performance. Technyl® ONE enables manufacturers to produce the highest quality products in terms of performance and safety, while respecting critical cost criteria.
